Apple Store was down, and when it came online Aperture 2 was added to its list of items. Its priced at $199 for a new copy and $99 for an upgrade for current users. The date is September 7, 2008. If you don’t know what this is, its a game that has been much anticipated for the past year or two, but with much delay for a long time now. Its from the creators of the SIMs and allows you to create your own galaxy and determine what happens within it. Its suppose to have great game play, where you can actually design and mold your own characters. I’m sure they will be hyping it up within the months to come. The Spore team has released a little teaser trailer which is not very good, and the spore logo sucks, but if you’d like to check it out visit the link below. HD DVD seems to have lost all hope within their PR department. After all the low blows to HD DVD over the past couple weeks they have had to come up with something good to say each time and this time, they really can’t come up with anything. I think they are worried more about finding a new job for when HD DVD ceases to exist. The group releases a press statement to CNET today:
We have long held the belief that HD DVD is the best format for consumers based on quality and value, and with more than 1 million HD DVD players on the market, it’s unfortunate to see Netflix make the decision to only stock Blu-ray titles going forward. While the Best Buy announcement says they will recommend Blu-ray, at least they will continue to carry HD DVD and offer consumers a choice at retail.
That didn’t seem to optimistic to me. It seems if you were holding out on getting an HD DVD player, or a BlueRay player, you can be assured that buy a BlueRay player will be your best bet.

What do you get when people stop fighting for the tallest building in the world? The tallest spanning arch bridge in the world. The proposed bridge for Dubai was designed by FXFOWLE INTERNATIONAL who who a design contest created by the city. The New Yorks firms idea was to make it modern but elegant for this expanding city and this is something that will be worth seeing when its complete. The project is suppose to begin next month, and will cost a mere $817 million dollars.
It will have a metro line across the center with traffic moving on each side of it, and estimated 2,000 cars each hour will pass on it. With 12 Lanes for traffic this will surely be a great help to the city. Don’t expect to see this thing up soon though. The project is estimated to take 4 years, and finish up in 2012.

Wake up in the morning. Take a pill. And you now live and a few extra decades. Thats what researches seem to be looking into as a cure for aging. You have seen products out there already that help fight aging, but nothing that can really prevent it. You have creams that will remove your wrinkles, you can give yourself a full head of hair, and other medicines that will help your aging joints. It seems that people have always been interested in living longer and fuller lives. Within the last century we already live much longer than people did before us and no one is complaining.
Sometimes the creativity of these image will blow you away and leaving you stunned with their beauty. Some will leave you wondering what was going on in the persons head who created it. Others are just breathtaking (well, maybe not so much). So Vertus Tech has brought us a list of what they think are the best 40 photoshopped images. I’m possitive that there are better chops out there than the ones provided, but there are so many to choose from that it makes it almost impossible to pick the best. It is of course still worth taking a look at.
With Apple’s iPhone it eliminated the need for buttons. Here is another device that decides buttons are a bad idea, and uses a fountain pen design to write, then send SMS messages. How it works is, you write your message then write out the persons name you want to send it to and circle it. It then will send your message via bluetooth to your contact and display the contacts name on a LED screen provided near the top of the pen. Of course this is more of a patent on something that could be possible, but it does put a unique perspective on things.
There are some very strange keyboards out there and the one above, the Optimus Maximus Keyboard, is not so much as strange as it is expensive. With no specific order, the list compiles the the 10 most unique, or strange (whatever way you look at it) keyboard designs. With their different shapes, and key placements, you will certainly be surprised someone thought these up.
So I decided to Stumbleupon something, which is something I haven’t done in a while and came upon this. Image-Metrics is what I discovered, and it turned out to be some of the best animation I’ve seen. The video on their main page is what caught my eye and got me intrigued as to what they do. Their realistic work is of course the video on the homepage where they show just how realistic they can get with a persons facial expressions within an animation.
I looked a little deeper into the site and they have actual done some amazing work that you yourself have probably seen. Take for instance the Rock Band trailer. Yes, that was created by them, as well as animation for US Navy Seals :: Fireteam Bravo, and other game companies. Their work is great and worth checking out.
If you’re a vintage style person, and aren’t too worried about what people think about you and your gadgets then this hack would be great for you. This vintage hack uses an old Sony Walkman to hide a 60gb iPod. All the original parts were stripped out by hand and then replaced with a leather lining and then the iPod. It looks very authentic and no one would know that its got a iPod hidden inside.
