World’s largest and tallest spanning arch bridge

What do you get when people stop fighting for the tallest building in the world?  The tallest spanning arch bridge in the world.  The proposed bridge for Dubai was designed by FXFOWLE INTERNATIONAL who who a design contest created by the city.  The New Yorks firms idea was to make it modern but elegant for this expanding city and this is something that will be worth seeing when its complete.  The project is suppose to begin next month, and will cost a mere $817 million dollars.

It will have a metro line across the center with traffic moving on each side of it, and estimated 2,000 cars each hour will pass on it.  With 12 Lanes for traffic this will surely be a great help to the city.  Don’t expect to see this thing up soon though.  The project is estimated to take 4 years, and finish up in 2012.
